UPDATED on 19:16 – 2017.02.01: It seems that the Facebook post made by Kimstore is taken down by their admin after the news has been spread out.
Bureau of Customs has conducted a raid on online shop Kimstore and as reported by GMA News Online today, BOC was able to seize products like high-end smartphones and electronic gadgets worth millions of pesos from one of the biggest online shops in the country last January 30.
BOC, acting on intelligence reports, believe that many of the gadgets sold in the shop were smuggled into the Philippines via misdeclaration. The raid took place in the shop’s postal address in Lakandula Street, Tondo, Manila.

“Among the items seized were units of iPhone 7 phones, MacBook laptops, Samsung Galaxy S7 series phones, Nexus 6Ps phones, Zenfone 3 Ultra phones, Sony Xperia phones, Canon cameras, tablets and music players, audio accessories, and gadgets for safety and security,” the BOC noted.

“There are plenty of cases wherein high-end communication and electronic gadgets are smuggled into the country through misdeclaration schemes – a top form of smuggling – used by smugglers to defraud and avoid paying correct duties and taxes to the government,” Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS) Director Neil L. Estrella said.

“BOC, under my watch, will often conduct raids in warehouses, storehouses, and depots, to combat the malpractice and related crimes, and finally jail perpetrators, once and for all,” said Customs Commissioner Nicanor E. Faeldon.

According to the BOC, the staff of Kim Store’s depot failed to present documents for the imported items. Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS) Officer Joel Pinawin said that they are still validating intelligence reports to fully identify the real owners of Kim Store.
However, it seems that Kimstore wasn’t mentioning anything about the raid, instead, they’ve posted this notice on their official Facebook page:

If this happens to be true, we might know the reason why some of their gadgets were sold at lower prices than the market price. We reached to them about their side of the story, but we still don’t get any word. Stay tuned on this if you are a regular Kimstore customer.
