Seagate releases 12TB hard disk drives for storing huge educational materials
We’re kidding about the educational materials, if you know what we truly meant by that.
I don’t know if an average user needs this amount of storage – however, we’re glad that this option is already available, thanks to Seagate who unveiled some new 12TB hard disk drives through their Barracuda Pro, IronWolf and IronWolf Pro series which are designed for NAS (Network Attached Storage) use.
Seagate is also trying to sell its latest big hard drive by riding on the popularity of the AR, VR hype, saying that its new drives are a storage solution for these types of media content too.
12TB BarraCuda Pro Desktop Drive
With 12TB of capacity and 7200RPM speed – double the space of its closest competitor – the BarraCuda Pro can meet any number of demanding data management needs from creative editing workflows to gaming to desktop computing. The drive’s high speed means that data-intensive activities like large file transfers and photo-editing are faster when using BarraCuda Pro. Ideal for professional creatives who might want to store content with huge sizes like 4K videos or a large library of RAW photo files.
12TB IronWolf and IronWolf Pro for NAS
Offering the highest capacity, reliability, performance and system scalability in the industry, Seagate’s 12TB IronWolf and IronWolf Pro HDDs empower customers to centralize their data onto NAS systems to ensure round-the-clock access for multiple users. At 12TB and in only a 3.5 inch form factor, IronWolf and IronWolf Pro offer more capacity in less space, meeting the needs for file-sharing, remote access and backup for SMBs, enterprises and creative professionals.
These drives are now available worldwide through your major computer hardware stores and online retailers.
