Xiaomi unveils big battery contender Mi Max 3
Xiaomi‘s newest phablet is perhaps the one you’re looking for if you want three big things on your next smartphone: big screen, big battery, and big power.
All of these big things were perhaps ticked with the Mi Max 3. The phone comes with an almost 7-inch screen (6.9-inches, with Full HD+ resolution, to be exact), with 18:9 aspect ratio. Considering the size, we can already classify this as phablet, too – which could be better for multimedia consumption.
Aside from the display, the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 also has metal unibody, housing the big 5,500mAh battery which promises long-lasting battery life than before. Inside the Mi Max 3 are the specs that seems to be shared with the Redmi Note 5 – a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor with either 3GB/4GB of RAM, as well as either 64GB/128GB of internal storage.
The camera setup is also the same, with a 12MP + 5MP dual rear camera configuration and 8MP on the front.
Another noteworthy features of the Mi Max 3 would be the retention of the 3.5mm headphone jack, as well as the inclusion of USB-C instead of the usual microUSB 2.0 which is found on most smartphones with big battery life, thus, enabling Quick Charge 3.0 support for charging the enormous battery pack. There’s also dual-band Wi-Fi and VoLTE on board, as well as Bluetooth 5.0.
Finally, the software that manages all of it is Xiaomi’s own flavor of Android Oreo – MIUI 9.5, which features AI capabilities in camera and voice. They’ve promised a MIUI 10 update later this year.
